A sign on Bilston Road, Wolverhampton stating that the safe height for passing under Midland Metro overhead wires is 16 feet 6 inches. It is my understanding that the normal height above ground for traditional street tranmwasys and trolleybuses was around 20 to 21 feet. However it appears that a certain author must have seen signs like this and then jumped to the conclusion that Walsall trolleybus overhead wiring was usually "around 16 feet" above ground. s20_2005_0126,MetroWiringHeightSign,BilstonRd_1600
